Hunter Wellingtons dig Kay Burley

Hunter Wellies Weekly Welly Watch, we spotted Sky News presenter Kay Burley sporting a set of Original Black Hunters. Although Kay lives in a suburban street in Northwest London rather than the countryside, she was determined to emulate this way of life.

Kay’s obsession started with the help of David Cameron, when she interviewed him recently Mr. Cameron gave Kay a bag of tomatoes grown in his country garden. Kay was impressed and thought how hard could it be?

Kay soon discovered that there’s more to planting vegetables than simply putting on your Hunter Wellies. Not only has she taught herself how to grow several different varieties of veg but hope one day to have the knowledge to have her own allotment.

Hunter Wellingtons Need TLC

Hunter Wellingtons peak time is now during the festival season, with thunderstorms predicted for much of this summer wellies are a must. Festival-goers will rely on their Hunter boots not only because they are a fashion must but to also keep their feet free from trench foot.

If you want your Hunter boots to last for next years festival season you need to show them a little TLC. Hunter wellies come with a 12months warranty against manufacturing faults which is not great if they fall to pieces because of misuse.

By following these few simple steps you can keep your Wellies looking like they just came out of their box.

For starters, to clean them, wipe only using lukewarm soapy water, never ever use solvents! This will damage them. Dry naturally away from direct sunlight or artificial heat. Heat and sunlight can shorten the life span of rubber causing the rubber to crack and leak. You may also like to try Hunter UV Tech Cleaner that helps to maintain the "New" look while preserving their colour and flexibility.

Storage, always store your Hunter Wellies in a cool, dry, dark place. Hunter make a Welly boot bag that is perfect for storing your Wellies and transporting them where ever you go. Never store your Hunters outside this will cause the material to dry and crack.

White marks on Wellies appear in hot or humid weather this is not a defect but a release of wax known as "blooming". Every Hunter Wellingtons boots are made of 100% rubber with small amounts of wax in a process called vulcanization. When Wellies are exposed to certain environmental conditions, this wax can "bloom" to the surface and appear as a blue or white mark. This is completely natural.

Should this happen, you can wipe the Wellies with a warm damp cloth. The Hunter UV Tech is the most effective method of removing such marks.

Lastly some general advice to follow, slipping can occur if Wellies have been exposed to solvents, oils, and animal fats, these can cause the rubber to swell. There is a greater risk of slipping with increased sole wear and tear, if you are looking for Wellies with high performance you will need the Hunter Balmoral range.

But most importantly every Hunter Wellie contains natural rubber latex, which in some cases some people may be allergic too.

Just follow these steps and your Hunter Wellies will last you for several more fashion seasons to come.
